Coperta dei Ricordi

Ricordo le calde coperte che la Nonna creava all’uncinetto; tanti piccoli pezzetti colorati poi uniti tra loro per formare una grande, calda e avvolgente coperta. Ricordo che da bambino le mie paure svanivano non appena mi rimboccavano la coperta e mi ci nascondevo sotto di essa. Tante piccole toppe ricamante d’amore e cucite tra loro. Una coperta che scalda, placa e ripara il nostro cuore. Non si è mai troppo grandi per farci rimboccare le coperte, bastano piccoli e semplici ricordi a riempire il nostro cuore di gioia.

Blanket of Memories

I remember the warm blankets Grandma used to crochet; lots of little coloured pieces then joined together to form a big, warm, snug blanket. I remember how, as a child, my fears vanished as soon as I was tucked into the blanket and hid under it. So many little patches embroidered with love and sewn together. A blanket that warms, soothes and repairs our hearts. We are never too big to be tucked in, small and simple memories are enough to fill our hearts with joy.
