Marta, YugoslaviaTESLA is a bead composition inspired by the form of a light bulb — a universal symbol of ideas, invention, and illumination. As an interior, furniture, and product design student from Serbia, I wanted to connect material experimentation with cultural identity. The piece references Nikola Tesla not only as an inventor of light, but as a visionary who transformed invisible energy into something tangible.
The Designer
I am a 22-year-old final-year student of Interior, Furniture, and Product Design from Serbia. My design process often begins with one question: how can I make this simpler? Paradoxically, the search for simplicity often leads me through complexity — through testing, refining, and questioning every decision until only what truly matters remains.
I approach each new project with curiosity and discipline, qualities shaped not only through design but also through years of training in karate. I find strength in focus, structure, and continuous improvement. I am usually most proud of my latest work, as each project represents growth. Currently, that is a portable pet house I designed — a piece that reflects my interest in functionality, mobility and esthetic.
